Election Day Hotline Empowers Voters with Disabilities Across the Granite State

Concord, NH —Disability Rights Center – New Hampshire (DRC-NH) will offer free, confidential assistance to voters with disabilities who encounter problems accessing the polls during the September 8th Primary Election. The DRC-NH Election Day Hotline will be available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM to help ensure that every eligible voter can cast their ballot privately and independently.

“Voting is a fundamental right, and our hotline is here to make sure that voters with disabilities can exercise that right,” said James Ziegra, Senior Staff Attorney at DRC-NH.

Hotline staff can answer questions and provide legal support for a range of voting issues including:

• Using the accessible voting system
• What to do if a polling place is not accessible
• How to request disability-related accommodations
• Reporting voter intimidation or unfair treatment at the polls
• Understanding and exercising rights under laws like the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Help America Votes Act.
