We investigate suspected abuse and neglect of people with disabilities across the state to identify and address systemic issues and make sure people with disabilities are safe. At any given time, we are engaged in multiple investigations. The results of investigations may not be released to the public.

Investigation into the New Hampshire Developmental Disabilities System
Recent coverage by the NH Bulletin brought long-overdue attention to serious, ongoing problems within the DD System. After receiving these reports, DRC-NH determined probable cause to suspect abuse and neglect of people with disabilities and opened a broad investigation into the DD system.

Past Investigations of Abuse and Neglect at Sununu Youth Services Center
We have conducted multiple investigations of the Sununu Youth Services Center, a secure facility for youth detention and commitment, which houses children with mental health and emotional disabilities. Three of our past reports are available below.
Lakeview Neurorehabilitation Center
In 2014, the state confirmed DRC-NH’s findings of chronic and pervasive programmatic deficiencies at Lakeview, which compromised the health, safety and well-being of its residents. Lakeview was eventually closed down.
