Medicaid and Healthcare

A parent and young child with light skin tone and disabilities warmly sit together on the trunk of a large tree. A vibrant green wooded background makes their white shirts and the young child's happy smile pop. The parent has their arm around their young child's shoulder.

Medicaid and Healthcare

There are many programs and services available for children and adults who have disabilities. We can help you understand your rights related to these services.

Know Your Rights

Medicaid is the largest source of federally-supported healthcare coverage for low-income families and children. The Medicaid program covers a broad scope of heathcare treatment and services.

Under federal law, Medicaid must cover certain ‘mandatory’ services such as hospitalization, doctor visits and family planning.  Under the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT) Medicaid Program, states must also cover comprehensive screening and treatment services for children and young adults.
