Your Rights

(Exceptions May Apply – Ask Us)

  • You have the RIGHT to be treated with dignity, courtesy, and respect by your peers and staff in a safe environment.
  • You have the RIGHT to be free from abuse, neglect, being taken advantage of or bullied.
  • You have the RIGHT to be free from restraint and seclusion unless you are a danger to yourself or others.
  • You have the RIGHT to an education.
  • You have the RIGHT to an attorney.
  • You have the RIGHT to medical, dental, and mental health services.
  • You have the RIGHT to send and receive mail, have visitors, and make phone calls.
  • You have the RIGHT to have your services explained clearly, including having an interpreter, if needed.
  • If you are 14 or older, you have the RIGHT to be involved in creating or changing your treatment or service plan. This includes talking about your medications, therapy, and other treatment options.
