Contact your Executive Councilor TODAY and ask them not to rush into a contract with Wellpath Recovery Solutions (Wellpath) without thoughtfully considering alternatives that prioritize the health, safety, and treatment needs of children. Children experiencing mental health crisis need high quality treatment that meets their needs and keeps them safe. We can, and must, do better.

DRC-NH has joined NAMI New Hampshire, New Futures, New Hampshire Legal Assistance, and Waypoint in expressing serious concerns with the State’s plan to enter into a sole source contract with Wellpath to provide inpatient psychiatric and behavioral health services to children at Hampstead Hospital, some of whom are as young as 5 years old.
- Wellpath is the subject of multiple complaints of abuse and neglect of the individuals entrusted to them for their care.
- Wellpath experience and work is overwhelmingly focused on healthcare services for adults in prisons and juvenile detention centers. We do not believe this company is qualified to provide in-patient psychiatric care to children experiencing acute mental health crises.
The proposed state contract with Wellpath is likely to be voted on by the Executive Council at tomorrow’s meeting.
