On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, Disability Rights Center – NH and Attorney Kerri Tasker hosted a free one hour Zoom discussion about supported decision-making (SDM), guardianship, and other alternatives to guardianship and how these can inhibit or promote the voices of people with disabilities.

Topics covered included:

Guardianship and its impact on a person’s rights and liberties.
Less restrictive alternatives to guardianship
The process to modify or terminate a guardianship.
Common questions related to supported decision-making:
- What happens in an emergency?
- What if a facility or business refuses to follow a SDM agreement?
- How do I get started with SDM?
