Shannon is the sole caregiver for her husband Charles who was paralyzed and required help throughout the day. Charles and Shannon faced delays in qualifying for and beginning services under the Choices For Independence (CFI) waiver. This would allow Charles to receive services, so Shannon could return to work.
Because of the delays, Shannon was afraid she would lose her job. She contacted DRC-NH for assistance. Our attorney helped Charles qualify for the waiver and he began receiving supports at home. When Charles’ service hours were later reduced, our attorney stepped in again and successfully had them restored.
Charles was able to stay at home with his family.
