John, a medically fragile young man with significant disabilities, was turning twenty-one and transitioning from child to adult services. During this time his managed care organization tried to cut his nursing hours. John lived at home with his parents who would need to fill in when his services fell short. The threatened cut in his nursing hours would have interfered with his parents’ ability to work and sleep. We filed a successful appeal and John continued to receive the nursing he required.

We helped Charles qualify for services so he could receive supports at home. When Charles’ service hours were later reduced, we stepped in again and successfully had them restored.
