Highlighting NH’s Accessible Trails – Osipee Pine Barrens
Fuel your burning love for forests at the Ossipee Pine Barrens!
Follow the green and yellow blazes to take this meandering trail through fire-dependent, globally rare, pitch pine-scrub oak woodlands, home to a variety of unique birds and other wildlife seldom encountered elsewhere in the state (including Eastern towhee and whippoorwill). The trail ends at an overlook of the West Branch River, complete with a view of Mount Whittier and the Ossipee Mountains.
