Celebrating 40 Years of Advocacy

For four decades, we have worked to eliminate the barriers faced by people with disabilities to live their best and most integrated lives. On November 28th, 2018 our Board of Directors, PAIMI Advisory Council, and staff were joined by over one hundred others, in celebrating the progress that people with disabilities have made over the past 40 years and our role in these successes.

Gubernatorial Commendation from Governor Sununu's Office

The State of New Hampshire By His Excellency Christopher T. Sununu, Governor A Proclamation DISABILITY RIGHTS CENTER FORTIETH ANNIVERSARY November 2018 WHEREAS, the Disability Rights Center is New Hampshire’s Protection and Advocacy System created in 1978 to independently protect and advocate for the rights of people with disabilities; and WHEREAS, the Disability Rights Center provides legal advocacy services to over 1000 individuals with disabilities each year throughout the State of New Hampshire; and WHEREAS, the Disability Rights Center advocates for services and policies that eliminate barriers to the full and equal enjoyment of civil and other legal rights by people with disabilities; and WHEREAS, the Disability Rights Center has led efforts to reform services for people with disabilities including special education, Medicaid, institutional rights, mental health, and accessibility for decades WHEREAS, the Disability Rights Center is dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities across the state of New Hampshire; and WHEREAS, the Disability Rights Center is celebrating its fortieth anniversary on November 29, 2018; NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHRISTOPHER T. SUNUNU, GOVERNOR of the State of New Hampshire, do hereby recognize November 29, 2018 as the Fortieth Anniversary of the Disability Rights Center and offer congratulations to and continued support of the important work of the Disability Rights Center on behalf of people with disabilities in New Hampshire. I urge all citizens in our State to recognize the importance of this anniversary.
